Given that writing memoir is an arduous, often isolating experience, I am offering five evenings that will be part workshop, part instruction, part conversation, part Q & A. I’ve designed these evenings in response to the numerous requests from memoirists I’ve taught, mentored, had manuscript consults with or met in conversation.
To further release your vox out of the box, each evening we will focus specifically on identifying exactly what comprises each memoirist’s voice (a key to every successful memoir). Weekly assignments and in-workshop exercises will help you to test out: why and where your voice defaults to voice-over (becomes generic); why and where it becomes voiceprint (distinct and compelling).
Participants will be writers who have had some form of training, editorial input, or have written a substantial amount of their memoir. Maximum will be eight memorists.
